I've always wondered why Dubya is given a hard time for being in the
Air National Guard. I'm sure many hundreds (thousands?) of people have
served their country in that organization. Please don't take this in
any way as a putdown for those who did serve in Vietnam, but I really
think it's time to let the Vietnam era be past history, except for the
remembrance of those who served.

I'm sure the rest of you have spit-polish clean lives, but I wouldn't
necessarily want to be remembered for every little detail of my life
40+ years ago. I like to think that I have learned a little over the
years, and perhaps that applies to politicians as well.
