The easiest thing to do is to just copy e.g. /qa/project-1.0 to
/qa/project-1.0.1 and fix the bug there. The downside is that directories
in /qa may not be strictly read-only, which may be confusing.

What about /maintenance? Copy /qa/project-1.0 to /maintenance/project-1.0,
fix the bug, copy that to /qa/project-1.0.1.

I chose /maintenance/project-1.0 over /maintenance/project-1.0.1 because
like this, it's obvious that it's a branch of 1.0. Then again,
/maintenance/project-1.0.1 makes sense, too: It's the branch leading to
1.0.1 and because of the version, it's clear that it's a branch of 1.0.

In the end, both variants are equal, the important thing is to be
consistent.

/qa/maintenance is another possibility for that.

Cheers,
   Raffi
