Hi All,
The submission for stands at FOSDEM 2015 is open until 20 November 2014.
There is no cost or fee for the stand and at least 2 people should be
available for the whole duration of the event. More information is
available at:
https://fosdem.org/2015/news/2014-09-19-call-for-participation-part-two/
Is anyone planning to apply for a stand on the behalf of the Tizen
Project?
Thanks,
Leon

Hi Ash, Thiago,
I love FOSDEM and I totally support your idea for promoting Tizen on
the event!
I'm not sure we need a stand at all, so I'm willing to hear other
opinions on
that particular issue. If we decide to have them, I'll try to procure
Tizen
giveaways and some rollups to promote it. The decision will be based
mostly on
the availability of volunteers to be at the booth -- 4 people minimum,
6 or
more is better.
Count me in! I will be more than happy to help. It is a bit early but
in general I plan to visit FOSDEM next year again. I even have in mind
the idea to apply for a lightning talk about Tizen-sunxi.
Thanks,
Leon

Hi,
The dates for FOSDEM 2015 have been announced, and I think this will
be
a great place to help promote Tizen to Open Source community. I know
there will be a few people that will be giving presentations at the
event on Tizen, but I think it would also be a great place for us to
get
a stand.
Potentially we can look at what companies want to promote themselves
&
the Tizen OS at FOSDEM and then look at how much a stand will cost
and
share the expense? The idea being we discuss Tizen and our
involvement,
but always going back to Tizen. A similar proposal that was made with
regards to Qt a couple of years ago (with no Tizen).
I will be available to help man the stand, and possibly other
community
members depending on how big the stand is and the number of
contributing
companies. I know there are still 6 - 7 months left for this event,
but
time goes so quickly and I wanted to make sure we have it on our
radar,
and with sufficient time for all the planning.
Hi Ash
Thanks for the heads-up, I think it would be good to have a Tizen
presence
there. Let's start with presentations: we should look into getting
Tizen
content in the embedded and cross-desktop tracks. I also think we
might be
able to get one session in the main track, something that talks about
what
Tizen is and what it's aiming at.
