My guess is that the mirror period was your problem. No matter
what switch you used, indexer would try to read the mirror
instead of the original pages. And since you had no mirror to
begin with, none could be made either.
You need to make the mirror first with
MirrorPeriod -1
./indexer -m
and only afterwards you can use it with
MirrorPeriod 180d
