that was pretty much what i arrived at. however, it would have saved me
weeks of debuging if this was how it was intended to work. which i
don't think makes sense. if there is nothing in the mirror directory,
it should index from the original sites and save to the mirror.
the problem with doing the above with setting MirrorPeriod to -1 and
then indexer -m then change MirrorPeriod to 180d, you would have to
change the MirrorPeriod back and forth with each indexing. in addition,
what if you left it at MirrorPeriod 180d and continue to add URLs via
the server table? it those new urls in server table wouldn't get saved
to the mirror directory either.
all in all the current behavior seems like a bug to me.
