Absolutely. Except that, having successfully downloaded the source,
I find that configure has been removed.
I feel very stupid here, but I have to admit I'm at a loss.

Guys, please put this at the top of INSTALL:
If you have downloaded the CVS source, change to the mnogosearch
directory and give the command
$ autoconf
This will create the executable configure. To proceed from here,
follow the instructions below.
