So, I spent some time this week trying to organize all the documentation/branding items for Preview. It's a bit confusing because we have multiple projects going on each having their own release manager, process and checklist. All the documentation/ branding items cover the following types of information.

+ Code dependent changes for a particular project as a result of branding ie: adding a logo to the home page, updating the welcome note, changing help links to navigate to the appropriate page. + Documentation and release items relating to a particular project ie: brief release notes for Cosmo 0.7 and announcements to dev lists + Documentation and release items relating to Preview as a whole ie: Getting started guide, launch pages, wiki documentation + I have explicitly omitted release specific build items ie: building final binaries, upgrading hub.chandlerproject.org etc. I will defer to the project release managers to compile this list.

It's easiest to categorize all this information into 3 buckets. The first 2 buckets have a combination of code dependent and pure documentation/announcement items. The Preview bucket consists of non- code deliverables only - mostly wiki work and end user documentation that we want to have available when we launch Preview.

+ Items specific to the Cosmo 0.7 release
+ Items specific to the Desktop 0.7 release
+ Items specific to the Preview launch

All the items we have identified so far have been logged in Bugzilla.

+ For the individual projects we have tagged these bugs as Project=Cosmo/Chandler and Component=Documention and Target=0.7 even though many of these are code changes. This just makes it easier to track them with a query. + The Preview related items are tagged as Project=OSAF and Component=chandlerproject.org and Target=0.7.

Each list can be easily queried using the 3 links at the top of the Preview Countdown Page.

PPD has done a first pass at identifying all the necessary tasks but I would encourage Jared and Philippe (release managers for Server/ Desktop) to add to this list as necessary since these will be tracked as part of the release management process. The Preview list will be tracked during the Monday Preview Countdown meeting. Some of the wiki items are pretty high level and will be expanded into smaller tasks as we move forward. Mimi has already done this with the Vision document items.

Let me know if you have any questions or see anything significant missing from any of the particular lists.

Cheers,
Sheila
