Hi Florian,

The answers you received from Saad and David refer to setting the initial view of the timeline. In the event that you were thinking along slightly different lines (as I was when I wrote this code), here's how to re-center the timeline to the current date after you've moved it around a bit:

<A HREF="#" onClick='aDate = new Date(); tl.getBand (0).setCenterVisibleDate(aDate);'>Center on Today</A>

If you put this link on the page with the timeline, then after a user has moved through the timeline a few years / decades / millennia, they can click on the link at any time and have the timeline re- center on todays date. Using the code Saad gave as a jumping off point, you could make it so that this link jumped you to any arbitrary date that is of significance to your timeline.

Like I said, I don't know if this was the direction you were heading, but I thought I would post it anyhow i case it helps.

Scott

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody has found a good way automatically set the timeline to the current date and time.

Thanks,
