Hello and thanks for your interest, The Project is African Virtual Open Initiatives and Resources, at http://avoir.uwc.ac.za . Instructions for doing a CVS checkout are there. We have just moved things around in CVS over the weekend to facilitate checking out individual modules rather than all 200 of them. You might want to wait a day before checking it out if you are planning to do that. There are developer and user mailing lists that you can get on from that website. Chisimba is a MVC framework that we are using to build version 3.0 of the KEWL e-learning platform, for collaborative websites, various kinds of web applications with as much of the Web 2.0 things as we find useful. We have an enterprise services bus coming for it in about a month's time, making it the first PHP Free Software framework to support a Services Oriented Architecture and Model DRiven Deveopment. We are using it to build our student information management system to replace our old proprietary one. We are also working with it and Kings College London to to the Desmond Tutu Archive (and potentially one of our other Nobel Peace prize winners) - hence my keen interest in timeline. We also just started a subproject to build an integrated real time classroom into it (voice, video, presentation, turn-taking, etc). The first live site made with it is the Digital Freedom Exposition at http://digitalfreedom.uwc.ac.za/ and testing live out of CVS is at http://5ive.uwc.ac.za/ Chisimba (PHP5 up) is the successor to KINKY (PHP4), for which there are quite a few sites that can be found from the AVOIR site. regards derek -- Prof. Derek W.
