Hi Ed,

There are a few of us who are kinda stumbling along at present trying to
understand the state of the art, but are also generally convinced that
the time is ripe to find a "consensus" set of subjects and a "consensus"
set of methods for providing a road map to all forms of Web data --
from LC to Flickr -- to help peel back this great data onion that is
unfolding.

Our incipient efforts are called UMBEL, and are *truly* in the earliest
phases. You can check out our Web site (http://www.umbel.org) and just
released wiki (http://wiki.umbel.org).

Our motivation is to create open end points of useful data access, not
any specific approach or axe to grind.

I'd be happy to contact you offline!

Throw your hat into the ring!

Mike
