Hi David,

This does help, thanks. Although I must admit that I really liked the
new layout's way of dealing with long event labels! It provides a
cleaner overview of 'dense' events with overlapping labels than the old
layout (in which they get scattered a little) imho.

In the meantime, I've managed to hack my way through the new layout code
to avoid the problem. By commenting out the lines in the
Timeline.DetailedEventPainter.prototype._findFreeTrackForSolid() and
Timeline.DetailedEventPainter.prototype._findFreeTrackForText()
functions in detailed-painter.js that try to find free tracks above the
current one, I managed to get this nice layout:
<http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd115/ronnyrubber/improvedtimeline_newlayout.jpg>.

Maybe it would be a nice option to offer both layouts (the old one and
the new one) as alternatives?

Thanks a lot for this great tool!

Ron
