Hi Neil,

I've just implemented a new feature that would let facets on the artwork
collection affect the artist collection. I copied your code and data and
modified it to make this exhibit:

    http://people.csail.mit.edu/dfhuynh/misc/tate/tate-collection.html

The most important part is this line in the HTML:

    ex:restrictBaseCollection="true"

Conceptually, this causes the artwork collection to act as a facet on
the artist collection. Now, the counts in the "Date" facet (on the
artwork collection) are still counts of artworks, not of artists, even
while you're looking at the artists view. So this is not the whole
solution, but perhaps it's enough for you to go on experimenting.

Also note that I have not updated the release site of Exhibit. The
example above is linking directly to the API in the SVN repository.

Best,

David
