When playing with your app I find something in Timeline in general that I'd like to be considered:
When the horizontal axis values included in data, are extend too far apart from the visible portion in Timeline, would be nice to have something to improve the experience of using Timeline. I propose some alternatives: 1- A Zooming In and Out mechanismn the let you find some particular section in the x axis. (Like GMaps Zoom Slider) 2- A box for enter a value to position both the lower ruler and the cursor the sliding window 3- A search box for looking a particular event / value and position Timeline there 4- External to the Timeline "throttle" buttons for speeding up (FFwd and Rwd) 5- When facets combination are selected, give the choice of auto scale/position the x axis to a value meaningful to the set found 6- Will be nice nice for example in Timeline that I could select the type of X axis scale (Linear, logarithmic, ascending, descending, etc) for both the ruler and the cursor 7- If considering Timeline like a viewport to a dataset, will be nice to have small global view of the set and Timeline position in the set (Something like ArgoUML general view) I'm old enough (53) for having using slide rule in school and college. Playing with Timeline brings me back those days memories. But there was something in the slide rule: I allways have all the witdh of it to my glance. Cheers 2008/2/19 Brian L.
