Good point.  Axes are currently left to Timeplot to calculate, but 
retaining the original axes bounds would be a good way to maintain 
orientation.

Very true, I can see that being a useful control to twiddle.

I'll extrapolate from the conversation so far that point-to-item is at 
least an acceptable model.  I'll come up with another example for 
series-to-item.
