community for the ASF with some kind of official status (if only to
help to answer questions such as this).
I think so too.
It should be useful information, even if it only contains the list
what kind of the ASF projects are existing and how can use the fruits.

IIRC there was a lot of talk a while ago on community about
translations (probably a search in the email archives would be a good
idea) but nothing really positive came out of it. one issue is that
without a sufficiently large number of speakers of the language on the
pmc, it's hard to demonstrate supervision of the content.
