Cliff,

You are absolutely correct - slip of the fingers. The date is 1 March 2004.

I suppose I'd like us to be a little proactive. If we can get everyone to have their CVS moved over to the new license by March (whether or not they have done a release), then we know that whenever a release does happen for any code base, we will be OK.

(Maybe I just like to nag :>)

Cheers,
        Berin

I am hoping something will come out on community@ in the next few
days, but this is a reminder that there is an expectation by the
board that we will have converted all active code-bases in xml to the
new 2.0 license by the end of March.

Berin,

I believe the deadline is actually the beginning of March (unless
there's a special deadline for the xml project). I've seen a post from Greg referring to March 1st. I've also seen other posts that have clarified that this really means any release from March 1st onward must use the new license. So, if you weren't going to do a release until April, I guess you could have the rest of March to take care of everything; although it's obviously best to just get
this done as early as possible. The license is a big improvement,
IMHO (although I'm sure many of us will miss the much shorter one, but at least you only need the copyright statement and reference
to the license in each source file:
http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0.html#apply)
