[genesis] Online/Offline Buttons?

Is there anyway I can have a button or two in Directory Opus or TinyMeter
that I can just press to get online or offline in stead of loading up (the
rather memory sucking) Genesis?

If not, could I write a script or something similar to do the same jobs?
