... Bought an Ateo 3+ ethernet card + gensis pack and I need DHCP too as i use
cable modem. Forced to use Miami until Genesis supports DHCP...

Yes, but not every minutes... In three month, my ip changed only once during
connection =>> change of class 192.161.x.x to 62.160.x.x ...

You can do it but, every time your cable modem is switched off, ip might
change... My computers got the same ip for at least 1 month now... 

You can suscribe for static IP. In my case, I would pay �90 / 150euros for
static IP per month. Quite expensive... (it was my phone bill just for
internet every month... now, i pay only �32 / 50e month)

Does it really matter? ip change do not occurs often...

we are 1400+ ppl over the Bordeaux cable modem loop (France), and i get in the
worst case (say 9pm) at least 10kb+ up to 100 kb/s downloading from
ftp.sunet.se... 

bandwith is large enough... Browsing is really nice... :) FAAAAAAAAAAST...
