The windows machines are using dynamic IP'ing (as default in windoze
networking) and the amiga has an ip that I plucked from the air, set to the
same "pattern" (i.e. the first 2 bytes are 169.254)The netmask is 255.255.0.0

It's private - 4 windows pcs and my miggy, although we might setup a proxy
server (wingate or similar) on one of the pcs
