Uaaaahhh ! This is so typical.
You : I have a problem
Them: Open IE Preferences and set foo bar.
You : I do not have IE.
Them: In NetScape you have to...
You : No, not NetScape.
Them: ????!!!!!????????????????????Mac?????linux?<shiver>
You : No <shiver>.... Amiga.
Them: Hmpfffff. Hmmppppfff ? Hm ?

I *never* say Amiga. I say:
BSD compatible TCP stack on a Motorola CPU. That could be anything from
Classic Mac (well, might not fit exactly with the BSD compatible though),
to Unix workstations of the eighties. (I guess Solaris and NeXT)

Sure. They oftne even do not know anything outside of the Wintel world.

Sure, but not with GENESiS, AFAIK.

You might need MiamiDX as GENESiS does not support PPPoE ATM.

It _is_ the full GENESiS. H&P accuired rights to it. They are even
distributor in Germany, maybe worldwide, I dunno.

Yes, and there is no support for that at the moment. It is not a question
of device drivers but of protocol drivers, I believe. Just as ppp.device
is different from ethernet.device.

On some IRC conference H&P said, there might be support for that later in
GENESiS. Regarding their bad update politics with the last OS3.5 I doubt
that this will come soon enough to prevent me from buying MiamiDX (I
prefer GENESiS in any case) before february next year :-( (Then I will get
a cable modem. But then, I might just hook it up to a Linux small
home-server)

Good bye,
