Hi All ,

I have been told that this list is very quiet , well I hope all the
questions That I am about to ask wont wake to many
people up

:-)

I have been trying ( with out much luck ) to network my Amiga 1200 & PC via
a c-net pcmcia card ( Amiga ) and
the internal network card on the PC .

>From the amount of info ( i have read - docs etc. )& help from other lists
it should be working .......................

can I ask you guys if any one with a working pcmcia card on thier Amiga
could check out my settings please .

Right :-

In Genesis prefs I have set up a interface

 called : ether0

comment: Local Lan

device : cnet.device

unit : 0

address : 192.168.1.2

And have edited it with :-

Interface Tab:
IP address--- 192.168.1.2 ----- Static

Destination --- blank --- dynamic

gateway ---192.168.1.1 ---Static

netmask ---255.255.255.0 --- specify

NTU 1500 Params blank

Sana 11 Tab:

Specify Sana II device --- Devs:Networks/cnet.device

unit -- 0

config file -----ENV:Sana 2

with nothing entered in the comment box below .

PPP Tab:

Carrier detect & Use DNS address ---checked

EOF Mode --- Off

Services Tab:
Auto Online --- checked

Events & Resolv Tabs

nothing set

When I start Genesis I get the following messages in the Gennesis window :-

TYPE | INFOMATION

warn    | ether0: sana2_getaddresses() failed

err | sana_output Device driver is offline ( unit is currently offline)

note | ether0 has been put offline

note | ether0 has been put online

note | adding Hostname Amiga to IP address 192.168.1.2

The Connect button at the bottom is highlighted and the Status window shows
ether0 off line

When I click on connect the messages are

note | ether0 is online again

warn    | ether0: sana2_getaddresses() failed

note | ether0 has been put online

note | adding Hostname Amiga to IP address 192.168.1.2

After all that I still can not ping the PC from the Amiga or the other way
round

:-(

Sorry again for the long post but can any one see any thing wrong please
