I've noticed that size of bigWig changes if the input is a fixedstep wig, a variablestep wig or a bedgraph. I guess bigWig is only an indexed binary format of the input data. Input data, on their side, have different levels of information compression (with bedgraph the most "compressed"). Is there a kent tool to convert any wig to a bedgraph or "denser" wig? After a "make utils" I only have 3 wig tools (wigToBigWig, wigEncode and wigTestMaker). I have a wig2bdg python script from MACS distribution but a compiled tool would be much better :-) d /* Davide Cittaro Cogentech - Consortium for Genomic Technologies via adamello, 16 20139 Milano Italy tel.: +39(02)574303007 e-mail: [email protected] */ _______________________________________________ Genome maillist - [email protected] https://lists.soe.ucsc.edu/mailman/listinfo/genome
