Hello Jessica,
We provide solutions to both of your problems, however, neither of them
work
exactly as you wish.
The 'url' method, plus the addition of the '$$' allow you to add
anchors to
your explanatory html file. However, the file is two clicks away; there's no
way to make it any closer than that. As for the "Outside Link" words, you
could
change those if you downloaded all of the source code, created your own mirror
site, and then edited that particular part of the code. That seems to me like
quite a bit of work for such a small change! But, you should know that a
mirror
site is an option if you are serious about personalizing the website.
I assume that you have already come across these instructions that
discuss the
'url' plus '$$' method: http://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/customTrack.html
Section 5, Example 4.
As for using the 'htmlUrl' method, as you have noted, there is only one
file
allowed per track. There is no anchoring system available for this method.
I hope that one of these proves to be a workable solution for you.
Please
don't hesitate to contact the mail list again if you require further assistance.
Regards,
----------
