Dear Dr. Freund, You have reached the mailing list for the UCSC Genome Browser, not the group at NCI.
At the top of some of their pages they have: "Cancer Genome Workbench - Produced by Laboratory of Population Genetics / National Cancer Institute / Bethesda Maryland - based on UCSC Genome Browser" They have built their tools on top of the UCSC Genome Browser code, with many fine extensions of their own making. We are happy that other groups have made use of UCSC Genome Browser code, but we are not responsible for modifications made by others. And of course, we are not able to address questions concerning their site. It appears that one of their pages contains a link to our mailing list. You would have to contact them for tutorials or training on their site, or for broken links or out-of-date pages. We have updated our User's Guide many times in the past four years. Apparently, the group at NCI has not downloaded the most recent version. You can view the updated version of many of the help pages simply by visiting the corresponding page on our site: http://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/hgTracksHelp.html Of course, our help pages do not address any modifications they may have made. We do provide training for the UCSC Genome Browser and other tools, including tools not mirrored on the NCI site. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can help you in any way. I hope you are able to find what you need. best wishes, --b0b kuhn ucsc genome bioinformatics group On Thu, 20 Nov 2008 12:26:31 -0500 "Elaine Freund" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hello, > > My name is Elaine Freund and I am the Integrative Cancer >Research > Workspace Lead in NCI's caBIG initiative.
