Hello Latha, Brooke forwarded your email to me. It is best to direct your questions to our mailing list at [email protected] so that your question and its reply are archived for future reference. Questions sent to this list will also be seen by all of our team members and therefore answered in a more timely fashion.
Unfortunately it is not possible to represent your probe scores in a wiggle format, which is meant for continuous valued data. You can, however, use the BED file format to represent your scores by assigning color values to each of your data points. You can find more information on the BED file format here, in particular see item 5 (*score)*: http://genome.cse.ucsc.edu/FAQ/FAQformat#format1 You may also find example 3 on this custom track FAQ page helpful: http://genome.cse.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/customTrack.html Hopefully this information was helpful and answers your question. If you have further questions or require clarification feel free to contact the mailing list at [email protected]. Regards, Pauline Fujita UCSC Genome Bioinformatics Group http://genome.ucsc.edu -------- Original Message -------- Subject: RE: [Genome] Genome Graph on UCSC browser Date: Sun, 18 Jan 2009 09:57:07 -0600 From: Ramdas,Latha <[email protected]> To: 'Brooke Rhead' <[email protected]> CC: 'Muchandi, Veerabhadrappa' <[email protected]>, 'Sunkara, Prasad' <[email protected]> Here are some other problems we are facing while trying to create a custom track on the UCSC Genome Browser. We have looked at BED file format and Wiggle_0 format. We would like to display our data in the wiggle_0 format where the length of the graph depends on the value provided. For example if we supply data such as chr1 32767 32787 1 We want to see a line drawn from 0 to 1. However we also want to see some additional information such as probe id when we click on the line drawn. For example if we supply the data as chr1 32767 32787 1 A_92645677 We want to see the probe id: A_92645677 along with Score:1 for the chromosome 1 for positions 32767 to 32787 displayed when the user clicks on that line. This is similar to the page that the bed format shows when you click on the probe-id. Please suggest the right format to use for this kind of a requirement. If you do not understand our requirement, please let us know a number to call and we can call and explain. Thank you. ---------------------------------------------- Latha Ramdas, Ph.D Scientific Application Specialist Research IS & Technology Services M D Anderson Cancer Center Houston, TX 77030 Ph: 713 794 5924; [email protected] _______________________________________________ Genome maillist - [email protected] http://www.soe.ucsc.edu/mailman/listinfo/genome
