Dear UCSC genome browser

I am interested in to calculate the "density of SINE or LINEs" .

In assessing the status of the some resion of chromosome, GC% is the one of
the merkmar. But in the standing point of the evoluting genome structure, we
need to asses the amount or density of the repetitive elements.
Your browser already have the column of REPEATMASKER, but there is no method
to compare two regions in the viewpoint of the " repeat elements density".

Do you have already some soft ware to calculate this?
Or you can give me some suggestion?

  sciencely yours
