Hello Pauline, What's the difference between a "final database dump" and what they have out now? In particular, having downloaded their data, if I set up a local copy of dbSNPs and extract the data I need, am I going to have to do the same thing again when this "final release" comes out?
Thanks for the pointer to the test site. Is there a list I can get on to be told when the SNPs (132) track is added? Once that has happened we will load the track onto our test site and it will undergo the usual quality assurance process before it is released to the public site. If you do not want to wait for its release to the public site, we expect to have a preview version on our test site (http://genome-test.cse.ucsc.edu/) fairly soon at which point you are welcome to look at it with the caveat that it has not yet been checked by our QA department.
