Hi Greg, Sometimes dbSNP dumps their database files to their FTP site, but then discovers a problem and re-dumps the files. Since there has not been a formal release announcement on <[email protected]>, I asked dbSNP <[email protected]> whether the human b132* files that are currently available for download are final, and they said hopefully they will be final later this week:
We will redump FTP this week to apply a small patch affecting about 12K SNPs for a clustering problem. So if you download the current files dated 10/13, the vast majority of the data should be the same but not 100%. If you would like to subscribe to dbSNP announcements: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mailman/listinfo/dbsnp-announce It usually takes a couple days after their announcement for me to load the track on our test server. I'll let you know when it has been loaded, again with the caveat that it has not been through our formal QA process, and is subject to change especially if we find problems and report them to dbSNP. Hope that helps, Angie ----- "Gregory Dougherty" <[email protected]> wrote: > From: "Gregory Dougherty" <[email protected]> > To: "Pauline Fujita" <[email protected]> > Cc: [email protected] > Sent: Monday, November 8, 2010 7:01:55 AM GMT -08:00 US/Canada Pacific > Subject: Re: [Genome] dbSNP 132 > > Hello Pauline, > > What's the difference between a "final database dump" and what they > have out now?
