Hello, Jo Ann, I thank your colleague for recommending us. We would love it if we could use the Browser software to offer annotations on absolutely everything that has been sequenced.
Unfortunately, our funding covers primarily vertebrate genomes, though we do host a few of the major model organisms. I agree that pombe is not exactly a minor organism, and it turns out that there is a group at the NIH who have used our software to build a browser on S. pombe. We cannot vouch for it because we have not done any quality control on that instance, and I note that they are running a version of the software that is quite old (v130. The current version is v248). Nevertheless, perhaps it may be of some use to you: http://pombe.nci.nih.gov/genome/ best wishes, and good luck in your research. --b0b kuhn ucsc genome bioinformatics group On 3/22/2011 3:12 PM, Jo Ann Wise wrote: > Hello, > > I was advised by a colleague to use the UCSC site due to the user- > friendly interfaces, etc. Imagine my surprise when I found that my > organism (the not exactly obscure fission yeast Schizosaccharomymces > pombe) is not included.
