Subject: [Genome] Request for correct gene symbols for human targer genes

Hello,

I dowloaded the list of experimentally known miRNA targets from your
website. The target genes that you mentioned in your file are gene
symbols. I was trying to find if any of my list of human genes are present
in the file by matching the gene symbols, but then I noticed that some of
the gene symbols for human are not mentioned according to human gene
symbols. For example:
C-myc, Caspase-3, dicer, Tcl1 etc.
For some I look into NCBI to see their actual human gene symbols. For the
above examples their names should have heen:
MYC for C-myc, CASP3 for Caspase-3, DICER1 for dicer and for Tcl1 I can't
even say whether its TCL1A or TCL1B, despite that the table state for them
Species "Homo sapiens"
For few genes I would have done it manually, but I have a long list of
human Gene symbols downloaded from UCSC Genome Browser to compare.

Please provide me with the correct gene symbols at least for human target
genes.

To UCSC: I hope all the gene names that are mentioned in your refGene.txt
file are the correct gene symbols according to HGNC guidelines at least
for human.

Thank you,
Rahil Sethi
