Hello Carol, This sounds like you were using a mirror of our site that did not have the most current version of our source code. Can you provide the url of the site? Or let us know if this was indeed our site (genome.ucsc.edu) so we can troubleshoot further.
If you are still seeing the problem they will need to get the latest version of our code (v256).
