I'm feeling a bit sense here: The system compiler and linker were able
to produce a first gcc-apple-4.2.1. Now that one isn't able to compile
itself. I copied over crt1.o from the system for a try and that didn't
change anything either. There's something really fishy going on there.
I'll try to investigate.

There's only csu-79 in the tree. I'll try to do a bit of downgrading on

Yep, it's quite the slowcoach. But it gets there eventually. :)
