I read some time (a year?) ago that the kernel splash wasn't working on
64-bit amd64 kernels, and I've seen no posts verifying that it indeed
/does/ now work. (If it does, such a reply should be forthcoming. =8^)



Works right here - VESA FB is supported. VESA-TNG (which is newer and prettier) is not supported as yet.

I am thinking about writing an AMD64 howto guide on this very subject as I have helped a lot of people getting it up and running.
