I'm almost sure that it is not an amd64 boot CD. I'm
using an old CD from summer 2005 (attached to a Linux Format
issue). When I issue "file" on the binaries on the livecd
it says "x86".
You're saying that I should download and burn an amd64
boot CD?
Yes, using the x86 live cd will prevent x86_64 applications (those from
amd64-stage3) to launch.
