... And so it did. =8^)

It seems the profile used to set it, but now sets only CHOST_amd64 and 
CHOST_x86, and doesn't default the first to CHOST as it should, at least 
with what we have merged. (I'm running ~amd64, maybe current ~arch 
portage doesn't do it and should, if you are running it too?)  I'd call 
that a bug.

If you want to file it, go ahead, then post the bug number here and I'll 
add my emerge --info to it as well.  If not, say so and I will.
