I contacted a dorm admin and he fixed my dorm IMAP account, and there's
no quota, so I'll be able to use that for now to at least ditch
Evolution. I'm using Claws Mail right now :).

On gentoo-user I got a similar tip and found a howto for setting up
getmail and dovecot in a way I had imagined. Skimming over the howto it
seems to do exactly what I wanted. I'll post the results when I get it
set up.
