Since it should be documented somewhere and this seems like the most
appropriate mailing list, here are some internal changes to gnome-2.10
that users might have to deal with:

USE=eds is now on by default. Evolution support is enabled by default in
upstream packages and we feel that should be reflected in gentoo builds
as well. If you don't want evolution-data-server support please USE=-eds

Gtk-engines now blocks older versions of gnome-themes. All of the theme
engines from gnome-themes-2.8.x and below have been moved into the
gtk-engines package as of gnome-2.10. emerge -C gnome-themes and let the
newer versions install.

System-tools-backends and gnome-system-tools are blocking each other.
The gnome-system-tools package has been split into two packages(front
ends and backends) system-tools-backends now installs the backend files
that used to be installed with gnome-system-tools-1.0.x. emerge -C
gnome-system-tools and upgrade to the latest versions.
gnome-system-tools also now supports the samba and nfs use flags for
managing network shares via those protocols.

Totem and Sound-Juicer are also part of the gnome-desktop now. They will
be installed with an emerge gnome. Make sure not to use the gnome meta
build(or use gnome-light) unless you want *all* of the gnome desktop
environment as defined by upstream.

Thanks for reading and as always use bugs.gentoo.org to report problems
