I am looking for a way to match the Eclipse project's release schedule into the ebuild naming scheme. Currently, Eclipse is on its 3.0 development stream -- hence, "eclipse-sdk-bin-3.0".
However, as a developer for Eclipse, I track the integration builds which happen once every week. These are not CVS builds, but pre-packaged development builds. They are also not alpha builds, beta builds, release candidates or pre-release builds. They tend to be numbered as the date and time at which they occurred; for example, "I200312182000". As well as these integration builds, there are milestone builds. Snapshots of the 3.0 development tree that are then brought to a reasonably stable state. For example, this week we're getting the M6 build ready for release. I'm wondering how these two different flavours -- integration builds and milestones -- might be matched with the ebuild naming scheme. Thanks, Doug. P.S. Don't take this as official support for Gentoo from the Eclipse project. I'm just a lowly developer who happens to prefer Gentoo to RedHat or SuSE, and prefers his life in packages....
