The answer for that is "somewhere between 64MBytes and 8GBytes", at
least on kit we have access to. Part of the problem with mips is that
it's a *huge* range of hardware, from tiny embedded things to boxes with
many tens of CPUs, with 32 bit, 64bit and mixed ABIs, and both big and
little endian. We cover it *all* with a single keyword, so we have to do
a hell of a lot more testing than is needed for other archs.
