I expect Georgi's explanation is it.  I'm not worried about it as it seems
to work, I have over 100 gig of my 250 gig not even partitioned yet, so
I'm not worried much about the disk space, and they emerge real fast,
apparently being mostly scripts that don't need compiled during the
emerge.  =:^)
