If that were truly the case, then we should just rm -rf the Handbook.
After all, any "real geek" will know how to install a Gentoo system
without needing it, right?

While the install method does tend to keep some people whom might be
problematic from using Gentoo, that is not the intention.  The intention
is to give as much choice to the user, while still helping them through
the painful installation process.  The install method is also in place
simply because nobody had taken the time to code an installer, which is
being rectified as we speak.
