You have to ask the one who implemented that. Maybe it was for performance reasons (dynamic-deps cause a lot of overhead themselves...), maybe just because it was hard to implement it properly. Feel free to provide a patch. Just please don't forget that you shouldn't write the updates before emerge finishes updates or starts depclean on relevant packages, so that the installed package dependency tree doesn't end up being broken. -- Best regards, Michał Górny
