Hi all,

the lvm tools complain about the missing modules.dep file, which is
certainly not there because we have a static kernel.

vgscan and vgchange seem to cannot be convinced to be quiet when they
settup the vg at bootup. We managed to find out the relevant position
in /etc/init.d/checkfs:

        if [ -z "${CDBOOT}" -a -x /sbin/vgscan ] && \
           [ -d /proc/lvm -o "$(grep device-mapper /proc/misc
2>/dev/null)" ]
        then
                ebegin "Setting up the Logical Volume Manager"
                echo hallo1
                #still echo stderr for debugging
                /sbin/vgscan --quiet --driverloaded y >/dev/null
                echo hallo2
                if [ "$?" -eq 0 ] && [ -x /sbin/vgchange ] && \
                   [ -f /etc/lvmtab -o -d /etc/lvm ]
                then
                        /sbin/vgchange -a y --quiet --driverloaded y
>/dev/null
                fi
                eend $? "Failed to setup the LVM"
                echo hallo3
        fi

As you can see, we already tried "--driverloaded y" and "--quiet". Also
"2>&1" which didn't help either.

Any pointers, ideas ?

TIA

Timo
