hmm, strange thing. i run several hardware raid5 systems with hotspare drives. every night all the stuff on the array goes to a tape drive so even if the raid completely gets faulty one has a backup. i dont want to stripe 2 drives just to mirror them for the rare statisc possibility another drive fails while rebuild. just my 2 cents.
