Just curious, does anyone notice a great benefit from prelinking?

The only really large programs that I use are XFree and KDE/QT. except for
phoenix and OpenOffice which were installed from binary.

I followed the instructions, noted very few exceptions, but I can't notice any
difference in startup time for the X server or for KDE.

Is it just me?
