I don't think it's a case of anyone ignoring you. 
Probably no one has seen the problem either because they 
haven't tried it or have done it and it worked so no one 
has any useful input for you.  The rest of us don't run 
KDE so we can't help <G>.

Did you check bugzilla both for Gentoo and KDE?
