Just to get an idea of your frame rate, run "glxgears" and let it run
for 15 or 20 seconds. Every 5 seconds it will print out a framerate
average for the last 5 seconds let it run at it's default size (about
300x300 pixles) and post the frame rate.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ernie $ glxgears
32762 frames in 5.0 seconds = 6552.400 FPS
32661 frames in 5.0 seconds = 6532.200 FPS
32804 frames in 5.0 seconds = 6560.800 FPS
32791 frames in 5.0 seconds = 6558.200 FPS
32796 frames in 5.0 seconds = 6559.200 FPS

Also check AGP status. I have an nvidia GeForce4 and if I do:
cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status
Status: Enabled
Driver: NVIDIA
AGP Rate: 4x
Fast Writes: Enabled
SBA: Enabled

You should have something like this somewhere in /proc.
Look around. See if AGP is enabled.
