Hi all,
Ok, so I now have mplayer installed, and can view my collection of divx movies, great... let's go for a more difficult question. I own a 3COM HomeConnect camera, connected to my computer using USB. The kernel has support for this kind of camera under the USB devices, and I have compiled it as a module. I have added "vicam" to /etc/modules.autoload, so when linux starts, the led on my camera lights up, so I guess it must be working.
I have emerged gnomemeeting, and when I configure the video I can only select /dev/video0 as the input for video. In my system /dev/video0 is a link to /dev/v4l//video0. Now the question... how can I access the input from the camera using /dev/video0? (I guess this finally uses video 4 linux, and v4l stands for that).
More information: I've taken a look to /dev/usb/ and there is nothing in there, so after all, I don't know if I have the camera correctly installed. Any ideas?
Regards Jose
