If anyone was wondering about this one. I still haven't figured it out. But I have pinpointed the isse.
/etc/devsfd.conf I am missing entries (at least it appears) for the cdrw. THe more I looked at it I also am missing entries for a ZIP drive I have installed also. THe zip should be registered at /dev/ide/host0/bus1/target1/lun0/here but isn't. Looks like I am going to learn a lot about devfs.. Thansk for the help.
