I might of found the answer to my problems... I'm about to recompile my
kernel after adding the line to scanner.h
{ USB_DEVICE(0x03f0, 0x0901) }, /* 2300C */
Hopefully this works or I'll be rebooting to scan til they formally
patch the kernel. As far as I can tell I think 2.5 has the support
already but just 2.4.20 doesn't.(which is what I'm using in vanilla)
